Some pictures from around the valley of Imlil in the High Atlas Mountains.
Many pictures are from dusk as the colours were truly wonderful with the dust and departing sun. Imlil itself is at an altitude of 1740mtrs, and is the most common starting off point for ascents of Toubkal, at, 4167mtrs the second highest mountain in Africa (after Kilimanjaro). I’ll leave that one until next year (well, maybe both!).
A view of Mt Toubkal up the valley from Imlil; with Toubkal Kasbah in the foreground. The Kasbah is listed in Nat-Geo's top 100 lodges in the world to visit,
The valley of Imlil, dusk
In these mountains, there were many Juniper trees, much now cleared but slowly recovering. Pines and gums have been planted to replenish a de-forested country.

Tizi Oussem village.
Looking north in the valley of Tizi Oussem, you can see how green it is surrounding the waterways. It is very fertile, with the main crops of walnut, apple and plum (and many others).
